MADL update Aug 2009

Grants totalling over £11,000 have so far been awarded to local charities and organisations by Harry Tuffins and NISA from the 'Making A Difference - Locally' fund.

Set up by NISA for the express purpose of making funds available for it's members to donate to their local communities, Making A Difference Locally has now been up and running for 12 months. Over 30 local organisations and charities from around our 7 stores have benefitted and many more applications are in the pipeline. Request for monies for such things as play equipment, grass cutting, setting up a local defibrillator service, football equipment etc. have all been granted and cheques presented to the relevant organisations.

Amongst those who have already benefitted are Churchstoke Church, Wistanstow community shop, Ludlow Tree of Light, Four Rivers Nursing Home (see photo above), Bishops Castle community hospital, Bewdley Carnival and Knighton First Responders.
